Decidedly floral with accompanying aromas of citrus pith, golden raisin, apricot blossom, and treacle. Juicy and fresh with orchard fruit, orange marmalade, tangerine, and honey lingering onto a soft and smooth finish. Fresh, mellow, delicious.Golden in color, this smells bright, with fresh pear and pineapple aromas alongside a faint smokiness. An attractive, forward sweetness quickly morphs into iodine astringency, finishing with lemon peel and light smoke accents. It feels light on the palate, while the brush of peat on the finish grows in intensity with each sip.Okay, how many of you have walked past this one thinking the price is just too crazily low for the liquid to be any good? How many have started your whisky life with this and then set it aside? Time to rethink. Speyburn, one of the forgotten distilleries of Rothes, is a charmer. Sweet and fragrant with notes of blossom and a little red fruit on the nose, the palate shows ginger, cream, and rhubarb. Flavor features off-dry, fruity tastes of baked cherry, baked apple, muesli. Honest, straightforward, nice. Nose Fresh, clean and aromatic with a rich lemony fruitiness Colour Pale gold with amber highlights Taste Medium-bodied with a delicate, fruity character with hints of toffee and butterscotch. A sweet long lasting finish.
