A powerful and lifted nose of burnt bread and flint. The intense smokiness is balanced with a mushroom earthiness, and orange peel. The opulent and pronounced style of Islay scotch is especially obvious in this classic example.Islay’s Laphroaig is famed for its intensely peaty profile, and this single-malt Scotch delivers on that reputation. The amber spirit opens with a smoky aroma that’s underpinned by vanilla and light floral notes. There’s plenty of peat on the palate too, backed by olive brine, espresso and chocolate characteristics. Beware: Cask strength means that an overproof alcohol level delivers strong flavor but also a hefty burn.(Great Value)- Eye-catching honey yellow color. Aroma is of burning leaves, seaweed, cigarette ash, campfire, smoked fish. Taste mirrors bouquet but adds cooked green vegetable, wax paper. Aftertaste is extended, oily, not as smoky as the midpalate.
