Bottled at 46.2% alcohol strength and traditionally without coloring or chill-filtration, The Gauldrons is a small-batch blended malt from Campbeltown, named after the area in the region whose name literally means 'bay of storms'. Both maritime and with a sweet, honeycomb character typical of the region, this is made from a marriage of the Douglas Laing & Co's best casks of Campbeltown single malt.
The bottle's spiderweb design is a nod to the local legend that King Robert the Bruce, having been defeated by his enemies, was inspired by the sight of a spider building his web in the bay to carry on fighting.
Matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, this unique blended malt combines single malts from Campbeltownâs last remaining distilleries: Glen Scotia, Glengyle, and of course, Springbank.
Only 600 bottles of this whisky are released worldwide each year!
