Grand Teton Colter's Run Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey (750mL)
John Colter was a member of the Lewis & Clark Expedition as a hunter and scout. After the expedition, he stayed in the Yellowstone region trapping beaver. In 1809, while hunting, Colter and his partner, John Potts, ran into several hundred Blackfoot Indians. Potts was killed. Colter was stripped naked, told to run, and pursued by a large pack of young braves.
A fast runner, after 5 miles, Colter was far ahead of the pack, with only one Indian still close to him, just twenty yards behind. He suddenly stopped, turned around, and spread out his arms. The Indian, surprised but exhausted with running, fell throwing his spear breaking it in his hand.
Colter snatched up the pointed part and killed the Indian, stealing his blanket before continuing to flee. He reached the river and hid inside a beaver lodge, escaping capture. Emerging at night he climbed and walked for eleven days to a trader's fort on the Little Big Horn.
Aged entirely in Idaho at above 6,000 ft and at extreme temperatures, Colter's Run Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is bottled in small batches.
