Blue Ridge Distilling Master Distiller Eric Meech nähert sich der Destillation seines Defiant Rye Whiskeys auf die gleiche ehrgeizige Weise wie seinen Defiant American Single Malt, wobei er nur vier hochwertige Zutaten verwendet: ungefiltertes reines Bergquellwasser, speziell gezüchtete Hefe, gemälzter Roggen und amerikanischer Toast Weißeiche.

Defiant Rye beginnt mit Wasser, das tief unter der Brennerei entnommen wird und von solch natürlicher Reinheit ist, dass es in keiner Weise verändert wird. Wir verwenden 100 % Roggen, kaltgemahlen auf unserer kundenspezifischen Walzenmühle, und der Whisky reift auf gerösteter und verkohlter amerikanischer Weißeiche, die den Whisky weicher macht.

    Bad, not good.

    Lots of extra-BSey marketing BS in the writeup. "Yeast - from the mash to the distillery" - WTF does that even mean? It's a whiskey distilled by marketing majors - Amurican! Scotch! Bandwagon!

    On to the tasting... Meh. Unpleasant nose, and a distinctly indistinct flavor, with afternotes of must.

    Delicious, smooth with hints of caramel

    I ordered 3 bottles, 2 were gifts. The gift recipients had never heard of this whisky. The response was amazing. After tasting this whisky I got phone calls, texts and photos letting me know they thought it was a 10 out of 10. I agree.

    I really like the vanilla notes on this smooth whiskey. Can't get it in Pa which made me want to purchase it more. Glad we did.
