Metcalfe's Vermont Maple Bourbon (750mL)

Flavored whiskey is very hit and miss. Often, it's cheaper blended whiskey that the distillery can't otherwise sell as a regular bottling, or would compete with existing well-level products. Or, the whiskey style is something that wouldn't readily sell. Think Fireball, from Sazerac, which is Canadian whiskey left over from their normally excellent Old Montreal facility. That wouldn't sell as well whiskey, but it does well with cinnamon. Here, none of that is the case - this is actually a very nice bourbon from Metcalfe's. The addition of Vermont Maple Syrup adds a lush, sweet, and decadent dimension to the spirit. This isn't "aged in a maple syrup barrel", it's got syrup added, so it's very much in the flavored whiskey category. But that doesn't mean it's bad. Quite the contrary - this is excellent on its own, over a rock, or used in cocktails. Try it in an old fashioned or a boulevardier with a sweeter amaro and vermouth. Highly recommended.

I originally tried this maple bourbon in Vermont, it was SO GOOD! Since I live no where close to Vermont to be able to visit the distillery again I was thrilled to be able to source another bottle and have it shipped! It’s the perfect combination of bourbon with a good dose of maple. Received faster than I thought and well packaged for its journey. Thank you!

I had visited the distillery in October and brought some home with me, and I wanted some more. But since they couldn't ship directly to me, they suggested you. And it worked. Your prices are higher than theirs, obviously, but that is to be expected since you are the "middleman". Your shipping costs are also higher than I expected, but it's still a lot cheaper than driving to Vermont and back. I will probably be ordering from you again.
