K5 Himalayan Blended Whisky (750mL)

K5 is the only Himalayan whisky available in the U.S. The whiskey is named “K5” in honor of the the 5th king of Bhutan, HM King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck.

The whisky is made from a Bhutanese recipe created by the distillers at The Gelephu Distillery, under the Bhutanese Army Welfare Project.

Sixty-Five percent of its blend comes from 8 and 12 year old malt whiskeys, distilled in Scotland and aged in bourbon and sherry casks. The remaining 35% is 100% organic triple-distilled Bhutanese grain spirit made from Bhutanese rice and distilled with Himalayan glacial water to express its excellent light fruitiness with lingering sherry taste of sweetness

K5 Whiskey brings together the best of east and west. The result is a spectacluar blended whisky that is smooth and supremely approachable, with notes of vanilla, caramel, spice and a touch of peat.

Blended and bottled by hand in the foothills of the Himalayas, K5 Himalayan Whisky is a special blend created in honor of the coronation of the 5th King of Bhutan’s ascension to the throne.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Light Gold

Aroma: Floral notes with caramel and creamy butter
 
Flavor: Richer on the caramel combined with honey and dried figs and notes of cinnamon and cardamon, with a hint of smoky peat.
 
Finish: Spicy cinnamon that lingers with a fruity sweetness
