This 30YO single malt from Jura's was named after the Standing Stone (the Carnas an Staca) - the name of the Isle of Jura's eight standing stones. These are the remains of an ancient stone circle which was built by the Diurachs around three millennia ago!
The whisky comes impeccably presented with a lovely copper-adorned bottle and presentation case.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet, creamy vanilla, sultanas and oranges. Papaya, guava, salt air and linseed oil. Toasted oak.
Palate: Rich, thick palate entry with chocolate orange and zest to the fore. Sweet barley sugar, custard and toffee apple. Hints of morello cherry, plum jam and allspice.
Finish: Long, zesty finish with cocoa powder, raisins, candied orange peel and malt.
Overall: An intense, full-bodied dram from Jura.
