Defiant Rye Whisky (750mL)

Blue Ridge Distilling Master Distiller Eric Meech approaches distilling his Defiant Rye Whisky in the same ambitious manner as his Defiant American Single Malt, using only four quality ingredients: unfiltered pure mountain spring water, specially cultivated yeast, malted rye, and American toasted white oak.

Defiant Rye starts with water drawn from deep under the distillery that is of such natural purity, it is not altered in any way. We use 100% rye, cold-ground on our custom roller mill, and the whisky is aged on toasted & charred American white oak, which softens the whisky.

Tasting notes:

Color:  deep amber:
Mouthfeel:   smooth and rich
Taste: spicy with delicate notes of honey, vanilla, caramel and tannins.
Finish:  lingering with spice and honey undertones

Defiant Rye has won multiple awards in 2017 and 2018, including silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, bronze medal at the North American Bourbon & Whiskey Competition, bronze at the Denver International Whiskey Competition and bronze medal at Tasting Spirits.
