Ardbeg Scotch Single Malt Uigeadail (750ml)

Breakfast cereal and stone fruit is sweet and savory on the nose. The flavors start sweet on the tongue with plump dried apricots and peach skin. Spice takes over with hot mace and nutmeg, followed by earthy grain notes and a gentle lingering smokiness.Dark amber color and brooding, smoky scent. Although intense peat is characteristic of Islay Scotches and Ardbeg in particular, here the smoke goes too far. It starts with lovely vanilla, brine and light smoke, but the peat party simply goes on far too long. Adding water softens the feel of this cask-strength Scotch, but does nothing to dampen the smoke. - K.N.(UB Collection,Finalist,Tried & True Award)- Color of golden wheat field. Smells seductively of peat smoke, cigar ash, tobacco, sea salt, smoked fish, campfire. Taste profile is toasty, semisweet, honeyed, multilayered, toffee-like. Amazingly elegant, considering the peat level. Classic.
