Appalachian Gap Snowfall Vermont Whiskey (750mL)

Snowfall is the unaged heart of our Ridgeline Vermont Whiskey, and has won multiple awards for its incredibly clean, full flavor.  The distillery starts with a mash of 45% barley, 30% com, and 25% rye. During the second distillation of Ridgeline, they draw off a small portion from the middle of the hearts run, when the spirit is at its most pure. This then touches oak briefly, is proofed to the powerful 108 proof at which they bottle, and is placed in a stainless steel tank to allow the flavors to soften and meld before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Clean and refreshing, hints of mint, fruit, and walnuts.

Palate: Sweet mixture of corn and spicy rye, all wrapped the cloud of barley. Candy, mint, pepper, spices and freshly cut grass with a fine floral touch. Very textured and multilayered, yet still soft despite the amount of alcohol.

Finish: Long, with successive waves of alcohol and discrete pepper and spices, accompanied by a faint nuttiness.
