Albany Distilling Ironweed Rye Whiskey (750mL)

Mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled by the Albany Distilling Company. Made from grain grown in New York State and aged in freshly charred oak, there are no colorings or flavorings added: just pure barrel-aged whiskey.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Rich Amber

Aroma: An initial dose of aromas of clove, orange peel and raisins

Mouthfeel:  Dry and Austere

Taste: sweet with the first sip sending the brain Fruity Pebbles sense-memory synapses, cinnamon and spices, with hints of dark fruit and a more traditional rye flavor builds with additional sips, and an element of charred bread crust also develops.

Finish: a hint of the fruit that accentuates the earthy, szechuan peppercorn-like bitterness in the linger. For a spicy whiskey, the finish is remarkably smooth.
